                  Newport Amnesty members accost wary shoppers

Cardigan AI welcomes Neil at the end of his walk across Wales

Neil walked from Monmouth in the east to Cardigan in the west - about 160 miles - though he says it felt much further. Neil stayed with Amnesty groups on the way and was joined by AI members for stints along the way. The walk linked up all the Amnesty groups in South and West Wales and in the process raised money for Newport Amnesty.

                Monmouth AI gives Neil a rousing send-off

Neil has so far raised around £600 in sponsorship - some of which he will be going to Cwmbran Mental Interest Group, which runs a drop-in and support service in Cwmbran for people with mental illnesses.

Amnesty present at local festivals

The group was present again at this year's Maindee festival on July 9th. Neil and Liz helped to raise the profile of human rights at the event that attracted 12,000 people. Thanks to Gerry and Liz, we also had a stall at One World Week in October.
